Awasi Patagonia Hotel

Architectural studio Felipe Assadi designed Awasi Patagonia Hotel in Chilean location (Chile), on 6 km away from Torres del Paine National Park.

Representing twelve rooms with their common areas, the architecture of the cabins and the common areas has its origins in the traditional buildings of the southern tip of Chile, where the structure is practically outside the enclosures, with pillars in a grid of approximately one meter. The fragility and high soil moisture suggested an elevated construction “on stilts”, and the distance and inclement weather made us prefabricate most of the hotel. They had an idea about Awasi Patagonia Hotel: They designed the project for those who would build it. There were no sophisticated construction details, because they were not important.

Thus, they avoided all possible errors that would be difficult and expensive to correct. And of course, they adopted this working strategy as a design methodology, making Awasi Patagonia Hotel a special location. We presented you some time ago another project named Casa El Maqui… it’s from Chile, so we thought that you want to take a look.
