The Sea Captain’s House, 1864
The Sea Captain’s House is located in one of the biggest and most luxurious homes on the island of Santorini, Greece.
Its design from the company PATSIOS is part of a complete renovation of the hotel. The architects sought to create the interior comfort and relaxation with a good sense of luxury and a hint of elegant style, typical of the entire hotel. The idea of simplicity and clarity characteristic of the local architecture, has been supplemented by elements of modern design. White is selected as the dominant, to promote the dissemination of natural light inside the rooms, as well as destroy the traditional look of the room, like a cave. Performed in a tone walls, built-in furniture, with boards and cement floor screed work to create a minimalist and whole image. Antique home furnishings, old trunks, and metal chairs and lights give the intensity and contrast with common white background. Pottery created by famous Greek artists, and antique furniture complement the decor of the rooms, bringing traditional elements.
